Q. Bernie has put forward the idea of having a medal system similar to the olympics to replace the points system in operation. His justification is that it will encourage better racing by forcing drivers to race for the win instead of racing for a points position. The driver with the most gold medals wins. If there is a draw you look and silver then bronze medals and so on. He wants to leave the constructors championship unchanged. Good question. its a good idea, I believe the champioship should go to the driver with most wins BUT if Bernie wants racing to the finish he should also do something about the engine rule, its frustrating to see drivers towards the end of races having to back off to save engines, let these guys race without caution and fear, that way it will provide close finishes. I just fear for the "2nd" team drivers, now that wins are more important than ever, teams will focus their attentions more and more on the driver they think can win races consistently *cough* Heikki, Nick *cough* could be in for a tough 09 season.
