Lodging (or a holiday accommodation) is a type of residential accommodation. People who travel and stay away from home for more than a day need lodging for sleep, rest, safety, shelter from cold temperatures or rain, storage of luggage and access to common household functions. Lodgings may be self catering in which case no food is laid on but cooking facilities are available. Lodging is done in a hotel, hostel or hostal, a private home (commercial, i.e. a bed and breakfast, a guest house, a vacation rental, or non-commercially, with members of hospitality services or in the home of friends), in a tent, caravan/camper (often on a campsite). In addition there are make-shift solutions. Sleeping is typically done lying in a bed, or more generally on a soft surface, such as an air mattress, a couch, etc. Some trains have sleeping cars. Sometimes people sleep sitting, because lying is not possible, such as in a train (if not in a sleeping car), a bus, a seat in a waiting room or a bench on the street or in a park. Inclinable seats allow something between sitting and lying. Whether lying on a row of seats is possible and comfortable depends on the presence of arm rests, and whether they can be moved up. In some public places, lying would be possible, but is not permitted. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How do I claim food and lodging if I stay somewhere 5 days a week. Will this change my principal residence? Q. I have been working 80 miles away from my principal residence for 14 months now. My temporary relocation is in the same state. I pay rent over there and stay there 4 nights 5 days a week. How can i claim this food and lodging? How should I do so to not lose my first time home buyer tax credit? What if I spend more time (physical hours) in my home than my job home? Asked by josh - Thu Jan 14 12:56:26 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. It's over a year, so it's not considered temporary any more, so you can't claim the expenses, and your first time homebuyer's credit is gone and will need to be repaid since it's no longer your principal residence. Answered by Judy - Thu Jan 14 14:11:43 2010 Where can I find cheap lodging in Tokyo? Q. I need cheap lodging for 3 months in Tokyo. The closer to Shinjuku, the better. Thanks. Asked by andresum - Mon Feb 20 00:20:50 2006 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. For 3 months, a hotel will defintely not be the cheap way to go. You should look into an international house, or the like. Tokyo will not be cheap, anywhere, and Shinjuku will be the highest priced area. You can commute to Shinjuku, though, and it will take about 30 minutes. I used to live here: (Azalea House) it was about $700 USD per month. You can search for lodging based on your own criteria from this site: Good luck! Life in Tokyo is a blast, I hope you have a great time. Answered by Israeli - Wed Feb 22 21:04:48 2006 Does a lodging manager actually own the hotel?
Q. Does a lodging manager actually own the hotel? if not, what is the name of the career where you actually own the hotel? Asked by ohhsnap! - Fri Sep 12 00:13:18 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Hotels that hire a manager are usually owned by companies or corporate hotel chains. Some smaller hotels are owned by individual people who, for economic reasons, run the hotel themselves. There is no specific career name for hotel owners. Answered by justme - Fri Sep 12 00:27:41 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Lodging"
